Some years ago, Lutfullahi Society embarked on the GreenDome School Project, to address the lack of opportunities for Muslim children to access balanced education in knowledge and belief, notably in the privately owned early child education and high school, without having to compromise their religion or even to be forcefully indoctrinated. It was a sour taste in the mouth of many who could only wish but do nothing.
Today, the society, along with others, has successfully midwived a centre of education that is a reference point in knowledge, character and Islamic ways of life via GreenDome Schools.
The idea of building a comprehensive school was initially designed and situated in Orofun, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government on a one and half acre of land. The land was donated to the society by the founder, Sheikh Mud’ Robiu Adebayo (RTA), and the progress of construction was 40%. However, later day realities compelled the society leaders to suspend the decision of starting the Orofun chapter. Indeed, reasons of urgent necessity propelled the society to quickly embark on the construction of the Oworonshoki chapter. The slightly over one plot of land was also donated by the founder to the society.
After the formal inauguration of the society in May 2004, the founder donated the parcel of law in front of the mosque for the building of GreenDome Schools. Members contributed financially to execute the project from concept to conclusion. A ground and two storey building structure was delivered and superviced by Engineer Raji Hakeem.
This building was declared open for public use on September 2001 by the founder, Sheikh Mohammed Robiu (RTA).
In 2008, two and half plots of land beside the primary arm of the school was purchased by the society. Members contributed to purchase the land and commence construction immediately. Architect Abdul-Hafeez Egbeyemi was commissioned to design and supervise the massive project. The building houses fifteen classrooms and special rooms, three science laboratories, a fine art room, an ICT room, home economics lab, a library, two large halls adequate for examination exercises and banquet. All costs and expenses drawn on this project were inwardly sought.
The schools, Nursery, Primary and High School are well populated. We currently have on our payroll, a Principal, Vice Principal, Head Teacher, Assistant Head Teacher, 33 Teachers, 10 Non-Teaching Staff, a Bursar and a Nurse, all eminently qualified to cater for the all-round needs of our children.
GreenDome High School was commissioned on 13th December, 2015.
